I have had several friends tell me that they have been working harder during this time than they have in years, their companies needing to evolve and adapt. They have been told that working from home means working just as hard as they did at the office. Now, not only do they not feel permission to grieve, they feel stressed to figure out if they are working ‘enough’ to please their employer. What if we all created a little space for each of us to be human during this time?
The Gen X mantra, 'Get it done' & why it doesn’t work for Millennials
Gen X is aka the latchkey generation. These kids came home from school & let themselves in(this Is Illegal In some states now). The divorce rate had tripled & more women were working. Young Gen Xers found themselves making dinner, doing HW, babysitting siblings, & watching MTV. This is a generation of people who grew up figuring out things on their own. They brought this same mindset to the office.
