Hi, I’m Katherine.
I help generations build bridges to one another with research, insight, and heart.
Generational Consulting for Leaders & Teams
If your workplace is juggling multiple generations and losing talent because of it, you’ve come to the right place.
My work centers on one idea: every generation carries wisdom that matters. I help leaders understand these differences so teams work better together—not just on paper, but in real relationships. I created the GenShift™ framework to help organizations translate generational insight into everyday leadership.
I work with executives, HR leaders, and cross-functional teams who are navigating tension—and opportunity—between Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z.
Why This Work Matters
Five generations now work side-by-side
Each brings different strengths, expectations, and stress points
Misunderstandings cost time, trust, and talent
Leaders need tools, not stereotypes, to bridge the gap
How I approach Generational Work
Research-backed: grounded in psychology and generational theory
Practical: tools leaders can use the same day
Relational: focused on trust, not stereotypes
Cross-generational: builds understanding, not division

My Story
Early Influence
My work started in a wilderness camp for teenagers who’d been pushed to the margins. In that setting, I saw how much young people want to grow, belong, and be understood—and how the right community can change everything.
Learning in Motion
While leading long hikes on the Appalachian Trail with at-risk youth, I earned my Master’s in Counseling at Clemson University. Those years shaped my belief that leadership is relational, not positional.
A Classroom Shift
Later, as a leadership professor, I noticed something that didn’t match what the textbooks said. When I asked my Millennial students about leadership styles, most chose laissez-faire. It was a clear signal: expectations of leadership were changing, and fast.
Research That Sparked GenShift™
That moment led to my dissertation and a qualitative study on Millennial leadership values—work that became the foundation for the GenShift™ approach. That research still shapes how I help leaders understand generational differences with clarity and respect.
