GenShift Podcast: Episode 1 — What Gen Z Wants from Work

Episode 1 of GenShift is live. I sat down with three Gen Z professionals to explore what drives their generation at work, how they respond to stereotypes, and the values shaping their approach to leadership and teamwork.

What stood out most was their clarity about what they need from the workplace: transparency, empathy, and purpose. For Gen Z, these aren’t extras—they’re the baseline for trust, motivation, and engagement.

Too often, stereotypes get in the way. Words like “entitled” or “too sensitive” miss the deeper truth. Listening to these voices reminded me that there’s strength behind the labels. Gen Z is asking hard questions, and in doing so, they’re challenging all of us to lead with more honesty and compassion.

The conversation left me hopeful. If we take Gen Z seriously, they could help reshape workplaces into spaces where more people—not just their own generation—can thrive.
